One: Anonymity is harder than you think
Two: Intimacy comes more easily than you think
Three: Memory is a killer with a terminal illness. Don’t let it kill you – wait for it to die on its own.
Four: Be the cake – soft squishy mousse on the top, rock-hard nougat at the centre.
Five: With every second that passes, the present becomes history. Which means two things –
(a) Your history is the track record and living evidence that you have survived before, thus you will survive again. Don’t forget the facts. The times you fell, the parts that broke. How it all came together again.
(b) Suck the juice out of every second you have, because your days are numbered. Do the most you can in that second in the present. Stop holding your breath waiting for the future to hit you. Stop wracking your brains for the memories of the past. Take what you have now – the present the present the present
and Six: “Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.” – Ernest Hemingway
